Question: For a particular component I must have a total volume of 100mls. How can CliniChemo allow me to do this?

Answer:  When at the approving worksheet calculations stage you can change both the solution volume and cytotoxic drug volume before proceeding. In order to achieve a total volume of 1000mls take the following steps.

  1. Take note of the volume of the cytotoxic drug that the system has worked out for the patient. Example: 37.5ml
  2. Take note of the solution volume to give the patient. Example: 100ml.
  3. Take the volume of the cytotoxic drug from the solution volume. Example: 100 – 37.5 = 62.5
  4. Reduce the solution volume by this figure. Example: 37.5 + 62.5 = 100

You now have a total volume of 100mls. This is made up of 37.5mls of the Cytotoxic and 62.5mls of the solution.
