Question:  How do I check which version of Helix Health Software I am running?

Question:  How do I check which version of Helix Health Software I am running?

Answer:  In order to check which version of the Software you are running you will need to access the System. Once you are on the main menu screen the version number you are running will be displayed on the bottom left hand side.

An alternate way of checking is to select Enquiries, About This System and press ENTER. The software version number is displayed at the top of the pop up screen.

Question:  How do maximise my Helix Health software screen when it is displayed as a small window on my PC Desktop screen?

Answer: Sometimes when you double click your Helix Health Desktop icon it opens in a smaller version displayed on your desktop. To maximise the display to full screen view press ALT + ENTER (keys) together.

Question:  How do I run the Drug Information CD? What do I do if it fails?

Answer:  To run the Drug Information CD please follow these steps:

  1. All users must be logged out prior to running this update.
  2. Put the CD into your CD Rom drive.
  3. Go to the Administration Menu on your main screen of CliniCHEMO and press ENTER.
  4. Select Update Drug Information and press ENTER.
  5. You will be prompted with the message ‘the utility will update your Drug Information system by installing new Drug Information Files’. Press ENTER to continue.
  6. Confirm the location of the update file by replacing A: by simply typing D: or E: and pressing ENTER.
  7. The update will then start.
  8. This process can take up to five minutes to complete.
  9. Remove the CD when complete.

IF IT FAILS: Sometimes the Drug Information CD may not be read correctly, in this case please follow these steps:

  1. All users must be logged out prior to running this update.
  2. Put the CD into your CD Rom drive.
  3. Double click on the My Computer icon on the desktop.
  4. Left click on CD drive “D or E”.
  5. When the CD opens - click on Edit and then Copy.
  6. Double left click on the “C” Drive.
  7. Double left click on the Drug info folder then left click on Edit and click Paste.

Question:  What do I do when I get the error: ‘Cannot find working folder’?

Answer:  If you receive the error ‘Cannot to find working folder ‘ please follow these steps:

  1. Select the icon on your desktop that says My Network Places, or Network Neighbourhood.
  2. Right click on the icon.
  3. You will be presented with a menu - left click on Map Network Drive option.
  4. Choose the Drive “G:” (using the down arrow or browse).
  5. If you click on the down arrow in the field (textbox) below called Folder or Path a list should appear.
  6. Choose the top option listed – don’t worry if there’s only one option. If you receive an error though select the next option on the drop down list.
  7. Make sure that the check box is ticked for Reconnect at Logon.
  8. And then click on OK.

Question:  I get a fatal error when accessing a module of CliniScript?

Answer:  This fatal error is informing you that a file index or data record is corrupt or out of sync, and you need to rebuild all files to repair the files. Please follow these steps:

  1. Select Administration, Rebuild Damaged Files, Rebuild All Files and press ENTER.
  2. Read the information screen and press Y for yes to confirm that you are about to rebuild all files.
  3. Warning: This procedure can take a long time to complete and severe damage to files can occur if system is turned off while doing this procedure. It would be advisable to inform all users of the rebuild.

Question:  How do I update my Drug Prices?

Answer:  You can update the drug prices via floppy disk or by an email attachment. Please follow these instructions for the method you would like to use:

Floppy Disk

  1. Insert floppy disk.
  2. Select Administration, Update Drug Prices and press ENTER.
  3. After confirming you do want to run update the system requests the location of update files. By default it will select A: (this is the Floppy Drive), therefore press ENTER.
  4. This process can take up to five minutes to complete.
  5. Remove the disk when the update is complete.

Email Attachment

  1. Save the Attachment file to C:\Download.
  2. Select Administration, Update Drug Prices and press ENTER.
  3. After confirming you do want to run update the system requests the location of update files. By default it will select A: (this is the Floppy Drive), therefore press ENTER.
  4. This process can take up to five minutes to complete.
  5. Remove the disk when the update is complete.

Question:  What if I have rebuilt the prescription file and it doesn’t work?

Answer:  Sometimes the damage to a prescription is beyond the abilities for the standard rebuild option to repair, only do the following if a rebuild has not resolved errors on the prescription file.

  1. Warning: This process can take a very long time to complete. We would also recommend that you take a complete back up of your system before commencing with this option.
  2. Select Administration, Utility Procedures, Merge/Compress Script File and press ENTER.
  3. A screen appears with options 1 to 10. The system is requesting you to enter the name of script files. In option 1 enter script and press ENTER. In option 2 enter script.1 and press enter, continue with the process but change the number by adding 1 to each proceeding script number, e.g. script.1, script.2, script.3…
  4. When you type in a script file that does not exist then you will be warned of this. Press ENTER to return to field and then SPACE BAR to blank the field. Pressing ENTER will skip you to the next field; continue this process until you reach the bottom of the screen.
  5. Confirm that you wish to proceed.

Question:  When issuing a drug, I wish to change the costing method from Latest Cost to Contract Price. How do I do this?

Answer:  Sometime you need to change the way drugs are billed, from normal cost price to a supplier contract price. Please note this will only affect drugs set-up with a contract price. Follow these few steps to allow you to select which price to use.

  1. Select Administration, Edit Files, Miscellaneous Files, Configuration Files, Defaults Part 3 and press ENTER.
  2. Select option 4: Issue at Latest, Average or Contract Price and press ENTER.
  3. A list of billing options appears, select Bill at Contract Price and press ENTER.
  4. Press ENTER twice to save the changes to CliniScript.

Question:  How do I transmit my orders electronically?

Answer:  In order for CliniScript to order electronically you must have your modem set up in windows. Then in CliniScript select Administration, Edit Files, Miscellaneous Files, Configuration File, Ordering and press ENTER. Ensure that the port is the same as the Windows port and that the Baud Rate is 18200.

Question:  How do I install a new printer in CliniScript?

Answer:  To install a new printer in CliniScript select Administration, Edit Files, Miscellaneous Files, Printer File and press ENTER. Give the printer a name i.e. label printer, report printer and press ENTER. Then select a matching driver for the printer and press ENTER. Then type the printer port i.e. LPT1, LPT2 etc..

Question:  How do I run my CliniScript upgrade disk?

Answer:  Place the disk in the floppy drive. Then select Administration, Update Program Version and press ENTER.

Question:  Each time I dispense an error appears on screen?

Answer:  When an error keeps appearing each time you do a script you may need to do a Merge and Compress. Select Administration, Utility Procedures, Merge/Compress Script File and press ENTER. In option 1 type SCRIPT. Keep pressing ENTER until the system asks ‘Are you sure you want to merge these files now’. Type Y for yes and the system will ask ‘Have you got a full up to date back up’. Type Y for yes and the merge/compress program will begin.

Question:  Can I export my reports to an external file such as Excel?

Answer:  To export your reports to Excel or Word select Administration, Edit Files, Miscellaneous Files, Printer File and press ENTER. The printer file will appear, select one of the blank printer files. Under the printer name section type Output to File and press ENTER. Then select any driver and press ENTER. Under the port section type Report.csv (Excel) or Report.doc (Word) and press ENTER three times to save the changes.
