Helix Health Reaches The Final Of Prestigious European Business Awards

The European Business Awards (www.businessawardseurope.com) has announced today that Helix Health is to represent Ireland as one of seven Irish finalists in the 2012/13 Awards programme, and the only one in its category. Helix Health has been selected as a highly-coveted Ruban d’Honneur recipient in the Infosys Business of the Year Award and will now go on to compete in the final round of the competition, in a bid to become one of the ten overall winners to be announced at a gala event in April 2013.

Pharmacist Matt Browne from Wexford has been awarded the Liz Herbert Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award at the annual Helix Health Pharmacist Awards 2012 for his outstanding commitment to pharmacy and his community throughout his career. Helix Health receives €5m from Ulster Bank/Diageo fund

Heathcare software provider Helix Health has raised €5m of equity funding from the Ulster Bank Diageo Venture Fund.
The funding will be used to strengthen Helix Health’s investment in driving export sales and to facilitate further investment in R&D projects.

Dublin, June 14th , 2010 – A state-of-the-art teaching facility which will provide training to the highest standard for Ireland’s pharmacists of the future was officially opened by the Minister for Health and Children, Mary Harney on June 14th at the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Trinity College Dublin. It is a collaborative initiative between Trinity and the company Boots, with the support of Helix Health.

Annual Christmas Barretstown Donation

This year we gave a Christmas gift of €2,500 to Barretstown in Kildare. Barretstown is a specially designed camp, providing a programme of adventure, activities and fun - backed by the medical world - which helps children with serious illness regain their confidence and self-esteem. Over the last 3 years we have donated €9,000 to Barretstown which almost covers the cost of sending three children to Barretstown camp.

Helix Health now donates all of the company's used laptops, desktops (with their hard drives securely removed and destroyed) and other IT equipment to the charity Camara. Camara is a registered Irish charity, founded in 2005, which uses Irish technological resources to equip schools in Africa with refurbished computers, educational software and IT training.
The charity takes in used computers from Irish companies and individuals. They then refurbish these used computers with the relevant hardware and software and ship them to schools and colleges in Sub-Saharan Africa. In addition, teams of volunteers are sent to train African teachers in basic computer literacy as well as in more specialised software.
At Helix we are continually striving to improve and reduce the impact of our company with regards to recycling and waste management. We are delighted to be part of this worthy charity which not only provides a valuable PC recycling service but truly makes a difference to the lives of those in Sub-Saharan Africa.
